It's been a very busy year for STRSE in 2015!

We took in 45 Scotties this year. Four were successfully treated for Heartworm disease and have since been placed in wonderful forever homes.

Heartworm has fast become an epidemic. It's very easy and inexpensive to prevent, but treatment is extremely hard on the dogs, stressful for the foster family and very expensive. Average treatment per dog is in the $8-1200  price range. (X4)

Three Scotties were placed in our hospice care, better known as Forever Foster due to an untreatable illness making them un-adoptable. We still  have two Forever Fosters from the previous year that we will continue to care for until they are ready to cross the Bridge. You may remember those two from 2014, Lacy and Miss Eva. Both have been diagnosed with cancer as well as a host of other medical issues. STRSE assumes all medical responsibility and cost of vetting and care for our Forever Fosters.

Sadly we did loose three Forever Fosters to renal failure in 2015.

Every single Scottie who comes into STRSE are medically evaluated, brought  current on all vaccines, micro-chipped, spayed/neutered, and any illness or injuries are addressed and treated. They are also groomed and cleaned up as many are in bad shape and had their grooming needs neglected. They are then placed in foster care, where their personality  traits are observed so that we can match the right dog(s) with the right family.

If they have any behavioral problems, we do send them into foster with a behaviorist to help them overcome the issue(s).

We couldn't do such wonderful work without the support from our Scottie family of supporters. We would like to thank everyone for your generous  donations, participation in our fundraisers events, all of the prayers and kind words, and most of all our faithful volunteers! Also, a very special thank you to all of our adopters for giving these guys a  second chance at having a great life with a loving forever family. It  takes a strong network of good hearted people who care for our beloved Scotties in order to continue our rescue efforts. Together we are the safety net for the homeless or displaced Scotties in need. STRSE works very hard to make sure that No Scottie is Left Behind! We take any Scottie in no matter the condition, illness or age.

Please visit and like our Facebook page for updates and information on our rescues.

Thank you for making 2015 such a success for our beloved Scottie dogs!

STRSE successfully adopted out 41 Scotties in 2015!

Job well done team!

We are saddened to announce the following losses to our cause & to everyone who knew them:

The Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast volunteers are saddened to learn of the passing of one of our staunchest supporters, Beth Ealing of Sarasota, FL.

Beth was the proprietor of Max’s Dog Bakery and shared her home and heart with two Scotties, Pippen and Mac Jagger.

Our deepest sympathy is  extended to Beth’s parents, brother, sister, extended family and friends. Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast thanks all who have made memorial contributions in her name.

Please keep Beth’s family in your thoughts & prayers.

It is with heavy heart that STRSE has recently lost yet another of our valued volunteers & supporters, Debra Diana Basile of Jupiter, FL.

A memorial service is to be held for family and friends at Taylor &  Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St, Jupiter FL 33458 on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00am.
