Our Mission

WHO WE ARE

Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast rescues and re-homes Scottish Terriers throughout the Southeast U. S. this includes the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

We are a registered 501c3 rescue organization that is operated by all volunteers dedicated to the Scottish Terrier breed. We appreciate the special characteristics that this breed has.

We feel strongly that there is never a reason to turn a Scottie over to a kill shelter when there are rescue groups like ours all over the country. We stand by our motto: we work to make sure that no Scottie is left behind!

WHAT WE DO

Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast (STRSE) is dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of Scottish Terriers in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.  Our foster dogs come to us from a variety of sources. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Abandonment by their owners

  • Relinquished to animal shelters, pounds, or animal control

  • Picked up strays that are never claimed

  • Owner surrender due to life changes (death of an owner, a new baby, medical problems, etc.)

  • We take them in, love them like our own, and ensure their medical needs are taken care of.

While they are in our care our foster Scotties receive the following medical treatment by one of our licensed veterinarians:

  • Spay/neuter if not already

  • Microchipping if not already

  • Heartworm testing

  • All necessary vaccinations

  • Other specific medical treatments as needed

We assess the dog's needs and find a great forever home from our pool of applicants!
