Donation FAQs
-
On average, STRSE spends $1,100 per dog. This varies depending on the individual need of each dog.
-
The moment we intake a new Scottie, an appointment is scheduled with one of our Veterinary partners. We start with an exam, fecal, urinalysis, heart worm test, vaccines and bloodwork (CBC and Chemistry). Any concerns found during this visit are immediately addressed. This often includes scheduling spay/neuter, dental cleaning/surgery and/or mass removals.

You’re welcome to visit our Tax Deductible tab for more information or reach out via the Contact Us option.
-
Since we do not have a facility to store items, we do not have an ongoing list of things needed. However, when the Scotties in our care are preparing for adoption, we share their wishlist on the social media postings. This helps ensure they have everything they need to transition into their new home. Be sure to follow us on Facebook!

“STRSE is an amazing rescue. You take in/save broken and scarred dogs and turn them into precious gems.
We are so lucky and grateful to have been chosen to be Luna's parents.”

I currently work with STRSE, serving as a foster home and trainer. With more than 25 yrs. experience working with multiple rescue groups, I can say that STRSE is a well-run organization, focused on doing what's best for the dogs. From choosing a temporary foster home to training to finding the best veterinarian care to ultimately choosing the best forever home for each dog, STRSE doesn't cut corners; nor does it turn it's back on dogs with special needs

I adopted from STRSE in 2023. I was given a clean bill of health and recent vet records. We left with everything we needed to get started! A crate, collar, leash, food, heartworm and flea prevention and most importantly, PetLink, his microchip info. Dogs are fully vetted, groomed and sent to their new homes with enough to get started. STRSE was also there for me in the few months following for additional questions or feedback.

I've adopted 3 Scotties from STRSE. The care these boys received pre-adoption was stellar.
