WHAT WE DO

Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast is dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of Scottish Terriers in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.  Our foster dogs come to us from a variety of sources. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Relinquished to animal control facilities.

  • Found strays who, despite making all efforts to locate owners, are not reclaimed.

  • Owner surrender due to life changes (death of an owner, a new baby, medical problems, etc.)

While in the care of our approved foster families, each dog will receive the following medical treatment by one of our cherished veterinary providers:

  • Spay/neuter

  • Microchipping

  • Heartworm testing and treatment if positive.

  • All necessary vaccinations

  • Comprehensive bloodwork (Chemistry and CBC)

  • Urinanalysis

  • Often needed, dental cleanings and surgery.

Each dog is given the appropriate time to recover from medical procedures, decompress and show us their personalities in a home setting. Each dog is evaluated with other dogs and people to help us paint a picture of what the perfect home looks like.
